Developing compassion for yourself isn’t self-indulgent as many fear – it can help mitigate a harsh inner critic that can drown out our potential and get in the way of living life to the full. If we feel better about ourselves, we are also better placed to feel compassion for others. The Dalai Lama proves this well.
