About

Maybe you are reading this because your feelings are getting in the way of life as you’d like it to be. Or, maybe you are feeling ok-ish, but you would like to feel better about yourself, or improve your relationship with others.

I am convinced that talking about your concerns with someone trained to hear them, and respond to them, in a particular way, can be very helpful. It won’t ‘cure’ you, or cancel out a painful past, but I know that it may well help you to move on with greater ease, and even pave the way for further positive changes.

As well as my private practice, I have worked for talking therapy services in the NHS, in Higher Education and other charitable services, which means I have had the privilege of working with a number of presenting issues with people from many walks of life, and of many ages.

I also supervise therapists, offer training in the potential mental health implications of pregnancy loss, and examine communication skills of senior doctors for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I’m on the advisory board of  Noon and the Health Professional Panel of the Miscarriage Association, and sit on the Adjudication Panel of the UKCP’s complaints and conduct process. I have published widely, and have written books.

I also run, and have practiced mindfulness for over 20 years. I don’t cold water swim.

I have a Masters Degree in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy (Minster Centre),  Diploma in Clinical Supervision (The Grove) and many moons ago I began my professional life teaching law, and then practising as a solicitor. I have a BA Hons Juris (Oxford University), and an LLM (London University).

My training never stops and I regularly undertake professional development. I’m a full member of the UKCP.
